A connected paediatric care ecosystem spanning admin, doctor, parent, and AI workflow surfaces.
We designed and delivered a multi-surface healthcare platform built on Medplum FHIR standards, connecting operations, clinical workflows, parent communication, and AI-assisted intake in one cohesive system.
The client needed a platform that could coordinate practitioners, family communication, appointment workflows, and structured medical data without splitting the experience into disconnected tools.
We implemented a modular product ecosystem with role-based portals, FHIR-native records, Medplum Bot automation, and an AI triage layer tuned for Italian paediatric symptom extraction.
The resulting ecosystem gave the client one operational backbone for clinical and administrative work while reducing fragmentation across care journeys.

FHIR-native records on Medplum
A custom relational schema with an export layer bolted on later
Paediatric data has to be readable by systems we do not control. Modelling it as FHIR from the first sprint made interoperability a property of the schema instead of a translation job someone inherits.
A separate portal per role over one shared data model
One application gated by role-based permissions
Clinicians, parents and operations staff read the same records and almost none of the same screens. Separate surfaces kept each one simple without forking the data underneath.
Medplum Bots next to the records for automation
A standalone scheduler service calling the API from outside
Automation that runs inside the platform inherits the same access rules and audit trail, so there is one place to answer who changed a record and when.
